Sutter West Bay Medical Group is seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our high-performing Neurosurgery team in San Francisco. This is an opportunity to work side-by-side with nationally recognized neurosurgeons and advanced practice clinicians in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

What You’ll Do

You’ll play a key role in guiding patients through every stage of their neurosurgical journey—including:
  • Managing new and follow-up visits in the ambulatory setting
  • Conducting telehealth consultations via Epic
  • Supporting pre- and post-operative care planning
  • Coordinating care across inpatient and outpatient teams
  • Triaging referrals and managing clinical communications
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies in collaboration with physicians
  • Educating patients and families to ensure confident care decisions

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active and unrestricted California NP or PA license
  • DEA Controlled Substance Registration (CSRC)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Additional certifications as required by the department

Experience

  • Prior surgical or neurosurgery experience preferred
  • Candidates with a strong interest in neuroscience and surgical care are encouraged to apply
