Opportunity Information

Sansum Santa Barbara Medical Clinic seeks to hire a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Urgent Care team.

  • APC expected to work Urgent Care, Fast Track, or Same Day at Urgent Care. 
  • Must be comfortable with pediatric patients 
  • PALS (pediatric advanced life support) required
  • Full time is 13 full shifts (or 26 half shifts) a month.  
  • Monthly pay.
  • Laceration repair, I&Ds, IUD removal, pelvic exam (no annuals), Fluorescein stain/corneal foreign body removal, joint injections and aspirations, directions to nursing on splints for fractures, puncture aspirations, rectal exams with optional anoscopy, joint reduction (e.g. Finger dislocation). 1-3 doctors always on the same day available to help out if needed. 
  • Basic EKG interpretation. ACLS certified. PALS certified. Basic Life Support. ATLS not needed in Urgent Care. 
  • 3 years prior APC experience (urgent care, ER, or FM with peds / Women's Health / procedures) desired and preferred. 
  • Operating schedule M-F 8 AM - 8 PM, Saturday & Sunday 8 AM - 7 PM. Limited holiday hours on MLK, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day. 

Qualifications

  • NP/PA with directly related experience in Urgent Care
  • BLS/ACLS
  • Board certified or board eligible
  • DEA certificate
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • CA licensure or the ability to obtain CA licensure
