Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our well-established Cardiovascular Surgery team in Sacramento, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
First Assist: Support lead cardiothoracic surgeons in the OR during open-heart and thoracic surgical procedures (e.g., CABG).
Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting (EVH): Perform endoscopic vein/artery harvesting for graft preparation with precision and expertise.
Patient Management: Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care to cardiothoracic surgery patients in ICU and telemetry units.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and nursing staff to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience: 3+ years as a surgical Physician Assistant, preferably in cardiothoracic or cardiovascular surgery.
Technical Skills: Proficient in EVH techniques and experienced as a first assist in complex cardiothoracic procedures.
Critical Care Expertise: Strong background in managing ICU and telemetry patients before and after surgery.
Credentials: Current PA-C certification and California licensure (or eligibility). BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
